Why does my device show up more than once

In some situations, you may notice the same device appearing twice under the "Devices" list. This means that your device has multiple MAC addresses - to the Privacy Hero router, this looks like two different devices.

Why does this happen? Some devices, including but not limited to video game consoles, have a wired MAC address and a wireless MAC address. If you switch between wired and wireless connections on this device, the Privacy Hero router will recognize each MAC address as separate devices.

For example, if you connect your laptop to your network through Wi-Fi, the laptop will be shown once under the "Devices" list. If you then connect the same laptop through a wired connection, the laptop will appear a second time on the list.

The occurrence should not cause any direct issues - however, If you wish to apply something to the affected device such as disabling VPN protection, simply apply the desired option to both instances of the device.

If you usually stick with connecting through just one of the options (Wi-Fi or Wired) then to do not connect via the other. The second instance of that device showing up will disappear automatically after some time it has not been connected to your Privacy Hero router.
